.....my main man, Jackson James! Isn't he a cutie? My wonderful friend Jessica came out to visit a few days ago, and had her little man in tow -- I can't believe how big he's getting. Before they arrived, I went through the whole house and put away everything that might be dangerous or tempting for a little guy -- I was so proud of my excellent baby proofing! And about 5 minutes after he got there, he grabbed a big lamp in the living room and almost knocked himself out with it. Sigh. It appears that my baby proofing skills need some serious improvement..... :)

This was the safest place for him....strapped in to highchair jail. He doesn't look very amused:

So a couple of us trooped through the sand and the wind down to the beach to shoot some shots. Of course, being a fellow photographer, Stephanie knew exactly what she wanted and she made no bones about demanding (DEMANDING!) that we shoot sun flare images....

Just kidding. She just really liked the late afternoon light. So, Miss Stephanie, here's your flare!

I'll admit it. I'm not shy. I looooooove to win. Especially when the competition is so fierce, and the quality of work submitted by WPJA photographers worldwide is so high, and the judges are so talented and well-respected.

And of course, when it means I get a shiny little ribbon next to my name.

Here's the winning image from Amy & Tom's wedding this past fall in Ocean City, Maryland. Amy was a ROCKstar -- it was so cold and windy that day....

It won't be released until April 1st, but if you like my images (you know you love 'em!) and if you like the song on our website (of course you're crazy about it!), you can be pretty darn sure you'll love this cd... because it's got both of the above! We did the shoot on one of the hottest days in July on the streets of Philadelphia. Despite the sticky conditions, it ended up being such a fun day, and I'm so proud to be part of the final product.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few copies of the disc before the rest of the world sees them, so I thought it'd be fun to give you all a little sneak peek! Here are a few shots of the case.... I didn't want to spoil the surprise for you all, so I didn't shoot all of the images. Big kudos to the man Will Boyd for his excellent design work.

This was our view just before the ferry headed out for the island. Not too shabby, right?




The island is pretty small, but it's much too big to walk so the Love Affair crew hooked us all up with golf carts to get around.... There were a few broken cart incidents throughout the week, but nothing a little shoving couldn't fix. Here's the fabulous Anne Ruthmann taking her cart for a walk.





I found this old volleyball net just off of Cape Fear. I love the desolate feeling in this shot.




Kate Harrison lived next door to us in the party house -- here she is rockin' a crazy yoga pose on the beach! Kate and I gave each other invisible manicures on our last night. Tip: Don't ever put lotion all over your hands and then try to polish your nails.




April and I drove out to the market one morning and broke out the camera for an impromptu shoot on the checkout counter before we left.




We all drove out the lighthouse one afternoon for a housemate shoot. Here are Maari, Candi, and Caroline -- all photographers by trade, all models by force (and they did an incredible job, don't you think?).

So if you need to reach me, email is the best option for the next few weeks. I'll do my best to check voicemails, but I have a feeling the cell reception won't be great on the island.

When I walked into the house on Saturday, Alex (my niece) saw my fuzzy winter hat and scarf and just had to see how warm they were.

It was really icy out, and kind of chilly so we didn't stay out too long, but we did find some great old round bales to play hide n' seek in and Annie was kind enough to whip up a big pretend pizza for me in her pretend outdoor kitchen. Not a bad way to spend a winter Sunday morning....

She's got hands down one of THE best pouty faces I have ever seen, and she's not afraid to use it.




Annie came up with this pose (oh yes...including that perfectly angled hat) all on her own -- she's kind of a mini rockstar.













Bacchus was more into finding mice than he was in finding Annie, but.....he's a dog, so I suppose that's okay.
















To the triple A's: Thanks guys -- it was a fun little shoot! Hope you had a very safe and not-so-slippery trip home. :)

On a side note, when I was out in Wilmington this past October, we bumped into Chad Michael Murray at a restaurant one night while we were out celebrating Elisa's birthday. What a cutie! And a very sweet guy... Just one more good reason to watch tonight. :)

Pay close attention to the ladies in the bleachers during the basketball scenes in the gym and you may just spot our girls! To help you find them, here are a few headshots I took recently. (This is like a bizarre tv version of Where's Waldo?!)

This is the fabulous Hollywood (aka Michelle). I believe she plays a bartender in the next few episodes as well, so keep your eye out for her!









And my sister Elisa...such a rockstar. Not only is she an excellent actress, she also happens to be an up and coming photographer! She'll be joining me on a bunch of shoots this year and I'm so excited to share her awesome work with you all. I'll be posting some of her shots very soon! Sorry I've been so quiet lately -- we've been busy frantically finishing up all of our albums from our 2007 couples before the 2008 season gets underway. And on top of that, we're cooking up some big new projects here that I can't wait to show you! And though I can't tell you about the projects just yet, I can tell you that a few things will look verrrry different around here in the near future.

Of course, I'll keep entertaining you with fun, unique images while you wait....starting with my favorite kiddos in the whole world. Meet the shorter, cuter side of my family -- my nieces and nephews:




From left to right they are.....Charlie, Isabel, Alex, Julia, and Hayden (leading the pack). Oddly enough, that's their order by age as well..... And speaking of age, today also happens to be Miss Isabel's birthday! Happy birthday Isabelly! (No birthday would be complete without a photo spread, of course....)



I hope your Hannah Montana party was a blast, sunshine!

So if you've been reading our backlog of posts, you know that my whole family rented a house down on the beach in North Carolina this Christmas -- 13 people in one house, and 5 of them were the kiddos. We spent the week riding bikes, playing tennis, hunting for shark teeth, relaxing in the hot tub, and watching High School Musical 2 repeatedly. I made a concerted effort to actually "vacation" on this vacation, so I didn't take too many photos, but I did grab a few one afternoon on the beach....



















I still remember the first time I saw Charlie -- he was just a tiny wrinkled little bundle in a car seat. Now he's tall, lanky, says hilarious things, and beats me at card games. Man, that happened fast.....




I love the feet in this one....

I rarely ever second shoot, and it was so much fun to just show up with my camera and play for the day. We met up at Chrissie's parents' home to shoot the girls getting ready, and right off the bat everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The chaos level was surprisingly low considering that there were 10 bridesmaids upstairs getting ready....



I couldn't decide which dress shot I liked best, so here are both:

The church was decorated with all kinds of gorgeous lights and wreaths from the holidays, and they had the lights set very low -- the whole effect was breathtaking.

The Talamore Country Club in Ambler was all decked out like a winter wonderland for the reception:





Contagious (the band) rocked the dance floor all night long -- and when I looked them up, I realized they belong to the same entertainment group as my favorite wedding band from '07 -- Jelly Roll. If you're looking for a great band for your wedding or party, I definitely recommend checking out the groups at Brandywine Valley Talent.
