Christy & Jarrett's Engagement Shoot
. the big day = May 31, 2008

A few weeks ago I met up with my fabulous '08 couple Christy & Jarrett in Philadelphia to shoot their engagement session. We first met last April to chat about their wedding, and about 2 minutes into our meeting, I knew that they would be a ton of fun! Christy has such a sweet smile and warm personality, and Jarrett seemed genuinely interested in their plans for the big day. How can you not love that?! :) When I asked them if they had any special requests for where they wanted to shoot their engagement session, they came up with a little list of locations around Philadelphia, including Love Park...so that's where we started our day!
They were such great sports the whole day! I had forgotten to warn them that sometimes we get a little dirty in the process of shooting, and even though Christina had on these beautiful creamy white pants, she was totally up for scuffing the heck out of them! And boy, did we ever try to get them dirty.... At various points throughout the morning, I asked Christy & Jarrett to sit on metal newspaper boxes....on the ground in a parking garage....on the street....and they were up for everything! Even when the newspaper box threatened to topple over into the middle of a busy street with them aboard. I'm happy to report that they (and the pants) survived. :)
It was tough to pick, but I think this is my favorite shot of the day....
I've been playing around with some fun textures recently and I thought they added a little zip to this shot. What do you think? Leave a comment at the bottom of the post and let me know if you like it!
Funny story about this shot.... we were strolling around Old City when I saw this great little alley that we just HAD to go down.... We got all set up and I fired off a couple of shots....and about 20 seconds after I shot this photo, this scruffy skinny guy appeared out of nowhere in the middle of this alley -- barefoot and in his underwear (and nothing else)! Apparently he had locked himself out of his apartment.... Now. Why he had been outside of his apartment in nothing but his underwear on a Sunday morning is the real question.... Nothing like a random meeting with an barefoot underweared stranger to make your day interesting!!
C&J: Thanks again for being such great sports that day!! You guys were a blast to hang with....I can't wait for your wedding next May!
