Patricia & Mike's Big Day . Oberammergau, Germany!When I started editing through Patricia &
Mike's images, I realized pretty quickly that there was no way I was going to be
able to weed my favorites down to 20 or so shots (like I usually do for the
blog)... there were just way too many to post! So, I decided to go a different
route this time and make a little movie for you
instead...
But first, a little backstory.... Patricia and Mike's wedding in Oberammergau, Germany was absolutely gorgeous! The day started out like most weddings do.... There was the getting ready, the church, the ceremony, the photos with the bridal party..... ......and then..... ....ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!!!! About two seconds after we finished the last formal shot, Patricia's cousins ran by, scooped her up, and took off with the bride! They had her ride (this adorable little wagon) all decorated and waiting in the wings....dropped her into it and took off down the street in a mini-parade!!! So there we were......about 20 people all dressed up, parading through the streets, pulling a bride in her little bridey wagon, led by her cousin who was playing the accordion the whole way! IT WAS NUTS!!! Of course, this is all happening right in the little village so we're walking by all the cafes, and everyone was cheering and clapping and snapping shots like the paparazzi.... So the whole parade rolls into the Altepost (another hotel/cafe place in town) and drinks are served all around and everyone starts singing German songs..... Meanwhile, the room is gradually getting more and more crowded as more guests from the wedding reception stroll down to find where the heck the bride and the rest of the wedding party have gone, and the room is about 120 degrees with all of the people squeezed into this little place....and suddenly there's a big commotion.... ...and Mike (the groom) comes busting into the room dressed in some wacky outfit and carrying a broom, with the entire oom-pa-pa German band and the other half of the wedding guests right on his heels!!!! The whole thing was complete and utter Bavarian craziness and it could not have been more fun. :) In the end, about 90% of the wedding guests ended up at the Altepost partying, singing, and dancing for a good 2 hours....and then the ENTIRE wedding paraded back down through streets to the reception site and the wedding continued on. What a night!! So now that you have the story, are you ready to see it all happen? :) Click here to check it out! (Warning for all you workplace readers: there's music on this one, so if you don't want to get busted make sure you turn the volume down on those speakers!) p.s. The slideshow takes a few seconds to load...but I promise it's worth it. Enjoy! Posted: Thu - September 13, 2007 at 01:06 PM |
