Jessica & Chris's Wedding | State College, PA

Readers, prepare yourselves for my longest post yet... This weekend was fabulous! I had the pleasure of kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying a wedding from the bridesmaid's perspective as one of my best friends, Jessica, got married to her sweetheart (and one of the nicest, funniest guys I know), Chris. It all took place in State College, PA -- home of Penn State! Jess & Chris both went to college there, and met over cocktails about 7 years ago....not too long after Jessica and I became friends, and roommates!

The ceremony was breathtaking -- the church was filled with light, and their vows to each other were the most honest, touching vows I have ever heard. And their reception at the Nittany Lion Inn on campus was stunning and ridiculous fun -- actually, it was pretty incredible just seeing the inside of the hotel, since I could never afford to go there when I was in college! Everyone was out on the dance floor, making requests, and kickin' up their heels... I was "off duty" as photographer while I played bridesmaid on their wedding day, but of course, I couldn't resist taking a few fun snaps throughout the weekend. Jess and Chris's photographer, the very talented and kind Jan Thiessen, was incredibly generous in allowing me to grab a few shots alongside him on their big day (thanks again, Jan!).

Friday afternoon: the weather was gorgeous, the champaigne was flowing, the ladies were laughing, and the nails were drying....

Saturday morning at the hair salon, Jess was super calm. What an elegant bride....And check out those big curls!

Jess (right), and fellow bridesmaid, Becca (left), all smiles in the limo on the way to the ceremony:

Brenda -- another fellow bridesmaid (and Jess' friend since 6th grade!)...

Aidan, the ringbearer...lookin' like a petite man in his tux and tough guy pose. Could he be any cuter??

One tree right behind Chris's shoulder in this shot had just started blooming with red buds -- they matched the tulips perfectly!

A few details from the reception.... The flowers from Avant Garden were scrumptious enough to eat!

How these glasses made it through the night I will never know. They were stacked on the bar next to the dance floor and stayed there all night by some miracle of gravity (or maybe it was glue)....

A little misplaced cake? More importantly, this is a good view of Jess's gorgeous 'do!

All smiles for their first dance. Jess and Chris are the kind of couple people strive to be -- they just love being together and making each other laugh...Plus they are both wonderful, fun, interesting people. You can't help but love them!

I turned around from watching Jess & Chris dance and caught this shot of Jess's mom watching them, a little teary, but she's not letting that stop her from enjoying the moment with her friend.

Thanks, everyone, for an amazing weekend!
