Sarah & Erik's Wedding | State College, PA

Wow...do I have a lot of blogging to do. It's been a busy summer, with lots of weddings, babies en route (aka maternity shoots), kiddos, and activities....and it's still only June! Below are some snaps from a recent wedding I shot with my partner in crime, the fabulous photog Jan Thiessen. This was one GORGEOUS wedding that I was so lucky to be a part of! The setting was unbeatable, the details were unique and elegant, and the bride and groom are a wonderful, sweet couple with a huge crew of friends.
The tent was set up on the groom's family's property, just outside of State College, PA, and man, was it a beautiful day....

I love the guys' ties....

Sarah, the bride, was so relaxed and stunning the whole day...here she is helping one of her bridesmaids get ready.

The details -- like Sarah's bouquet below -- were simple, yet gorgeous. Very natural. Very Erik & Sarah. I love a couple who matches their wedding so well to who they are!

The day started out cool, but boy did it warm up quickly. Sarah and Erik were prepared -- they had a bar set up at the ceremony site on top of a hill, overlooking farms and mountains, where guests could cool down with a glass of cold water or fresh lemonade.

Just a nice shot of Erik and Sarah reading their vows to each other.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom took some time by themselves while they strolled down a path through the woods down to the cocktail site.

Their college pals were a hilarious, fun-lovin' crew...who later ripped up the dance floor all night!

This is probably my favorite shot of the day... It was clear to me as soon as I arrived that morning that Sarah and her sister Rachel had a very special bond. Throughout the day, I saw Rachel hugging Sarah or kissing her on the cheek. You could tell they had been through a lot together, and she was so proud and happy for Sarah...and to me this shot shows it all... Everyone else is posing for Jan (who was shooting to the right of me), but Sarah and Rachel are in their own little world.

The food from Zola New World Bistro in State College was oooouuutstanding! If you haven't been, and you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by....I promise, you'll be very happy you did.

Another great detail -- shots of Sarah and Erik from childhood 'til now, as well as the table cards, hung between two trees.

Sharing a moment in front of the pond...this property was just too pretty...

After hearing a rumor that there wasn't going to be a cake, I was astounded to see not one, not two, not three, but FOUR scrumptious cakes, brought into the tent. It was nothing short of pure pastry bliss!

Just a shot of the newlyweds' table and some of the action around the tent in the late afternoon light....

Thanks again Sarah and Erik -- what a fabulous day! I had a great time hanging out with you on your big day... And of course, to my pal (and Zola dinner partner!), Jan.
