Christine & Mark's Wedding | Windham, NY

I've been holding on to this post for a little while for two reasons: first, I'm trying out a new blog which showcases photos a lot better than my last one and I wanted to get it up and running, and second, this is a very special post and I wanted to make it extra great!  The reason it's so special is because the wedding I shot this weekend in Windham, NY was for an old friend of my family's.  My parents have known the bride's parents for about 327 years.  They met while working at a resort in the Catskills during summer breaks from college.  The very same resort where this wedding was held!

Though we don't see each other often, Christine (the bride) and I have known each other since we were little pipsqueeks, and her family is awesome, so I knew this was going to be an absolutely incredible wedding.  And...since my parents were nice enough to dig up this little gem for me, I thought I'd show you all the transformation from pigtails (that's Christine on the right)....

....to bride!

Something blue:

The flowers were incredible....This is actually one of the bridesmaid's bouquets, which were different from Christine's but they looked amazing all together.

A small portion of the bridesmaid crew (there were 10 gorgeous ladies by the bride's side)!

Emily & Patrick, the bride's niece & nephew...

I just love this expression....

And let's not forget Mark (the fabulous groom) and his entourage....

Boarding the trolley for the ride to the church...

It was kind of drizzling on and off all day, but nobody really seemed to mind, and it only made their bubbles look cooler.

A few details from the reception....

I loved the way they set a bunch of wine outside for guests to help themselves to, without having to wait at the bar.  I'm not sure about the white, but the red wine was flown in from Germany for the occasion and I hear it was quite delicious!

A couple of casual portraits...

The flower girls & ring bearers got front row seats for the first dance.

The groom, the bride, the Elvis:

Dancing with her dad, Mike, who is wonderful and funny and just a great guy.

One of the wonderful things about shooting an old friend's wedding is that you often know many of the guests there personally, which, in my opinion, allows you to take a few more liberties with the photos you capture.... For instance, here's a nice shot of my apparently very charming dad, looking quite dapper and dancing with THREE lovely ladies (lucky for him, one of them -- the one in the middle -- is my mom!)....

As we were finishing up a few last portraits later in the day, I asked Christine & Mark if they were enjoying themselves, and they said that they were, but they just hoped that everyone else was having a great time.  So M&C, this shot is for you guys:  here's the view from the dance floor late into the night...and this is only a tiny piece of the crowd that was knocking down the dance floor, begging the band for one more song....  You guys threw an INCREDIBLE party.  Congratulations!

 Awwww....you guys are so sweet.

Have a great time in Hawaii!!!  Make sure to have a big shave ice for me....
