Paige & Jeff Get Hitched in the AdirondacksThis weekend I traveled up to the Adirondacks to
shoot Paige & Jeff's wedding. Several months ago, Paige had requested
some info over the web, and when I called her back a few hours later, we had a
great chat and she booked me right there on the phone. (Love that!)
Voila.
Since she and Jeff live in DC, we didn't actually get
a chance to meet in person until I showed up at her parents' house Saturday
morning, but I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while for several
reasons. First, I knew the Adirondacks would be absolutely gorgeous at
this time of year. Second, Paige and Jeff are great people that live such
a cool lifestyle. They met a few years ago on the Air Force base in D.C.
where they both work -- as musicians. Too cool. Paige is the
vocalist, and Jeff is one of four trombone players in The Airmen of Note -- the premier
jazz ensemble of the US Air Force. (Paige also sings at weddings and other
events all over the place, in case any of you brides (or others!) out there are
looking for vocalists....and she's awesome. If you have a minute, do
yourself a favor and listen to a sample or two on her
site.)
On to the photos! Everything about this wedding
was centered around fall, and though early forecasts were calling for snow, the
bride & groom got lucky and ended up with a perfect
day.
The flowers, the dress, and the
bride:
![]() ![]() Check out her frilly "bride" socks and platform heels -- cute and a little punk at the same time. Love 'em! ![]() Getting ready time was a little hectic, but it made
for some great, unique
photos....
![]() On to the chapel at Camp Fowler...this place was one of the best wedding sites I have ever been to. It was modern and simple all at the same time, and I think it really reflected Paige & Jeff's style. The whole building was crafted from gorgeous, dark wood, and the light that came in from the huge windows at the front and back of the chapel was amazing. ![]() Trying to keep her ensemble intact while hopping out of the Barracuda...I love this face! ![]() ![]() A few weeks before the big day, Paige and I were chatting and I asked her what kind of flowers she would be having. She said that what she wanted was sunflowers and roses, but she was having trouble finding a florist that would do that combination for her. I don't understand that -- one of the best parts of working in weddings is experiencing all of the unique and unusual pieces that the bride and groom put together to make the day their own. Different is good! We can all use a little mixin' it up once in a while. I was glad to see that she got her dream (and of course, it turned out beautiful): ![]() ![]() The toasty fire was a great addition to the
ceremony....
![]() ![]() ![]() After the ceremony, we took a walk down to the lake
near the chapel for a few shots...the wind was a little strong, but it was
definitely worth
it.

friend's
Barracuda....
![]() ![]() The reception site at Paige's parents' mountain house
(aka "The Camp") was quaint and gorgeous. A small tent was set up
right off the porch so that guests could meander between the tent and the house
freely, which was a nice change of
pace.
![]() I love this shot of Jeff and his new mom-in-law
giggling....
![]() The cake (made by Paige's friend) was
scrumptious.

dance....
![]() These two are just the sweetest couple. You can
tell they really care for each other and just have a great time
together.
![]() And one last shot for the
road....
![]() Paige & Jeff -- I hope you're enjoying your stay
up north and that long awaited hot tub! It was an honor being a part of
your incredible day. I will definitely let you know next time I'm headed
to DC!
