Hotlanta!

I'm back from Atlanta and the One Day | Two Way workshop with nate kaiser & susan stripling.... What a trip! It was fun to connect with so many other great photographers from around the U.S. (and Canada!) and I learned a ton of new tricks that I'm so excited to use! We spent a lot of the day running around Atlanta with our cameras....occasionally stopping traffic....and getting kicked out of construction zones by security guards.....is there a better way to spend a day? :) Here are a few photos from the workshop (oh, and on the plane ride home I was inspired to change up the frame around my blog shots and do something a bit more fun....enjoy!):

Here's nate, working his magic.....

I love all the cameras and the feeling of anticipation here.....

Some of the funky light tricks we were working on.... I can't wait to try this out with some of my couples this summer!

By the way, if you recognize any of these faces, it's because they're all photographers! We all got a little taste of what it's like on the other side of the lens, and I have to say, everyone did an incredible job. Especially considering that it was about 90 degrees out and we were all pretty dirty from laying on parking garage floors, climbing through construction zones, sitting in the middle of the street, etc. :)

Above is Rebecca Peters, and below is Sara from Whitebox -- yeah, ladies! The three of us, along with Mel (the other half of Whitebox!) got super lucky and snagged some extra time with Nate on Wednesday night when he joined us for dinner at Pittypatt's, where we were treated to some very interesting southern dining. There was "game" mounted on the walls everywhere you turned, grits on the sideboard, and mint juleps were their specialty drink. If you ever find yourself in Atlanta with a hankering for watermelon relish.....this is the place for you.

Here's a shot Rebecca grabbed of me (which I totally snagged from her blog -- thanks Rebecca)!

1 am = last shot of the day.....my Keens in all of their stanky glory. They were in pretty rough shape. The 13 hour day in Hotlanta was more brutal on them than 10 days of hiking around red dirt in Kauai and 2 summers worth of wading through lake muck. I was ready to part ways with them when I checked out the next day, but I kind of have an emotional attachment to them. So hopefully they'll recover after a little vacation to the washing machine spa... we'll see.....
