You know it's going to be a good day when...

...it starts out looking like this:

While I was pouring my coffee this morning, I noticed our crazy winter sunrises had returned.  And what a perfect day for it, because today happens to be my big sister's birthday!  Happy birthday Elisa!  In keeping with our usual tradition, I was hoping to have a beer with you on your birthday, but since we live several states apart, this will have to do.....

This is a shot of me and my wonderful seester, Elisa, taken with one of those junky little disposable cameras when we did the Breast Cancer 3-day Walk in Boston several years ago (okay, so she walked the 50 miles and I just ran around handing out oranges and granola bars at pit stops, but the point is, we did it together).  Anyway, you may have noticed that it does not appear in the photograph as though we are doing any walking whatsover.  But that's not entirely true!  In fact we had to walk several blocks in a less than friendly neighborhood (after nonchalantly sneaking past security at the "mobile city" gates) before we found this great little bar..... Be sure to note the very fashionable "we haven't showered in three days" hair-wear.  Excellent.

So, everyone please wish my awesome sister a big happy birthday for me.  (Here's a nice shot of Elisa and her husband as the above picture does not represent either of us very well.)  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SEESTER!  Love you lots!

*n.b.* I just want to clarify that the above post is in no way meant to demean the purpose or goals of the 3-day Walk.  It is a truly incredible, moving experience developed to raise money for a hugely important cause, and I encourage anyone who has not participated to get out there and be a part of this (or any) volunteer event!  Even better -- bring a friend along and enjoy the whole experience togther.  You will never forget it!
