What are the holidays....



....without a few shots at the beach?  On my last day in North Carolina, we got my sister's pup leashed up and took her out for a walk on the beach.  It was 70 degrees and gorgeous and the perfect way to finish off my trip.  I thought I'd post a few shots for all of my fellow northerners who need a little vacation from winter weather (especially my 2007 brides counting down the days to their long-awaited honeymoons!).  So go ahead!  Put the eggnog away and take out the pina colada mix!  Listen for the distant sound of the tide in your favorite holiday carols...  Put the wrapping paper down, prop your feet up, and enjoy a few moments at the beach!

The beach was pretty empty which is so rare....we had it all to ourselves except for a person or two here and there.  At one point, we saw a woman walking toward us.  As she got closer, we realized there was something tiny running next to her..... so tiny that it looked like a little mouse running along by her feet.  Oh, but this was no mouse -- it was a tiny sweatered little tail-wagger! 

When you're used to labs, retrievers, and just big dogs in general like we all have in my family, it really throws you for a loop seeing something like this running along on the beach!  And this little guy was the funniest thing.... he had a ton of personality! Take a look at how big he is compared to his owner's sneaker at the bottom of the frame....
